Be the future of digital marketing

Become a digital marketing leader.

We’re seeking graduates, career starters and career changers from all backgrounds to take part in our 2019 Digital Starters program.

We’ll skill you with everything you need to become a leader in one of the fastest growing industries.

Successful applicants will complete advanced, hands-on training and workshops conducted by the Sparro leadership team, Google and Microsoft.

You’ll work with real clients, learning all aspects of digital marketing, while being mentored by an ambitious and diverse team.

What to expect

Digital Training /01

Senior leaders and business partners will run weekly workshops and formal training sessions across a range of hard and soft skills – paid search, SEO, data / analytics, tracking, and account management.

Google and Microsoft will host external training, tours and certifications to offer a third party perspective.

Mentoring + Support /02

Digital Starters will work in one of five teams, with regular mentoring sessions from their Team Lead and other senior leaders.

Career Pathways /03

We’re looking to develop Digital Starters to be the next leaders in our industry, and in our business.

How long does the program run?

12 months from January 21, 2019. Applications are open now and close on December 16. The program is full time and paid at an entry level market rate with regular reviews.

What is the application process?

  • Nov 28 – Dec 16: Submit your details in the application form before December 16.
  • Dec 17 – 21: A shortlist of applicants will be contacted to conduct a short test online before December 21.
  • Jan 7 – 11: Group and individual interviews will be conducted in our Surry Hills office.
  • Jan 14: Successful Digital Starters will be offered a position at Sparro, starting January 21.
  • Jan 21: Digital Starters begin at Sparro.

Are permanent positions available after the program?

Our intention is to offer full time employment to Digital Starters following the completion of the program period.

How many Digital Starter positions are there?

We’re aiming to bring on 5 Digital Starters, one for each of our digital marketing teams.

What is involved in the training?

Training will be a mix of internal and external formal training sessions, workshops and mentoring. Starters will have regular sessions with their Team Lead, and lunches and mentoring sessions with Google, their Sparro mentoring partner, and the business leaders.

What is involved in the work?

Starters will work with their dedicated team on actual client work across paid media (Google Ads, Facebook, Bing Ads), SEO, content, data analytics and tracking, and account management.

Is any experience required?

No experience is required at all – just an aptitude for data and an ambition to learn digital marketing.

Is it for graduates only?

No, we are looking for applicants from all backgrounds – regardless of education or experience. We’re particularly interested in hearing from professionals in other careers with transferable data, account management or interpersonal skills. In the past we’ve hired lawyers, engineers, accountants, and scientists.

Bek began with Sparro just three years ago and now runs major accounts including Temple & Webster, and Estee Lauder Companies. She trains and leads a team of junior writers and marketers.
