The objective of the Digital PR Strategist is to generate links for clients that improve search rankings and traffic.

As a Digital PR Strategist, you are comfortable developing, selling in, managing, and evaluating digital PR campaigns for a number of clients, with whom you will build strong relationships and trust. 

You have a good commercial IQ and you understand how to effectively manage client budgets. You will most likely have a minimum of three years’ experience in the digital PR agency side, with a good understanding of SEO and social media platform operations. 

You must be ambitious and have a desire to build and scale a team, offering close mentorship and upskilling other members of the team when and where necessary. 

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Onboarding clients into digital PR campaigns and retainers, making budget and KPI recommendations and roadmap creation
  • Drive and own the performance of your accounts. You are responsible for hitting KPIs and retaining clients
  • Create detailed reports on PR performance proving ROI to clients
  • Client education and engagement
  • Relationship building with Australia’s media network
  • Report on digital PR performance internally to the Group Director of SEO 
  • Train, supervise, direct and sign off PR execution angles, and releases for your accounts
  • Ownership of the digital PR offering as a critical part of the wider SEO product
  • Pulling internal teams together to brainstorm, develop and deliver campaigns
  • Understand how we can deliver beyond just links
SKILLS
  • Be able to create relationships with important media contacts, be ready and willing to sell in stories, and mentor execs to help them develop media relations skills
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and strategic experience in your approach to digital PR campaigns and how they connect with the wider brand 
  • Show proactivity and spot opportunities to pitch ideas & concepts to clients and to press
  • Collaborate with traditional PR agencies where necessary 
  • Think commercially, and have the ability to pitch and sell in digital PR campaigns to new and existing clients
  • Have the ability to report on and educate clients around key metrics, objectives and KPI’s of a digital PR campaign
  • Understand industry analysis and know the latest trends in the PR landscape
  • Be able to develop and run data first (search first) ideas using audience, data and topics that are relevant as well as creative cross-channel campaigns
  • Understand what stories and content the press like to cover and how that relates to your list of clients
  • Be aware of what competitors are doing to land links and media placements
  • Spot opportunities to deliver above and beyond the link target or spot new hooks
  • A solid level of proficiency in Google Analytics, Google Search Console and other online 3rd party data platforms.
