The Performance Director is responsible for driving excellence across Sparro’s performance channels, including Google Ads, Meta, TikTok and more. The Performance Director will lead a team of channel leads to drive change, excellence and best practice adoption within Sparro. We are looking for someone with strong technical skills and hands on experience in performance channels. 


  • To improve client outcomes from performance channels by increasing the standard of accounts.
  • Working with teams and individuals to build strategies, training, experiments and testing frameworks to continually innovate and keep Sparro at the top of their game.


  •  Lead performance team (Google Lead, Social Lead) to achieve client outcomes across the agency.
  • Work with teams to build best practices, structures & reporting.
  • Draw on external and primary research, testing and trends to build product roadmaps and excellence standards.
  • Build and test new products, betas, channels to drive greater client engagement and outcomes.
  • Work with client teams on Tier 1 client strategies across performance channels.
  • Maintain a view of account standards to proactively reach out to client teams and accelerate high performers, and resolve poor performers.
  • Participate and lead performance strategies and service pitches for existing and new clients.
  • Work with the data team to build consistent reporting structures and templates.
  • Champion Sparro as a leader in the industry through industry networking and thought leadership.
  • Develop agency skills, culture and confidence within this channel offering in line with business direction, supporting teams implement experiments and betas, reporting back to the business on their effectiveness.
  • Constantly seek efficiencies and improvements, championing the adoption of best in market channel practices for clients across teams.
  • Be an ambassador for the Sparro values and culture.

Your skills

  • A high level understanding and hands-on skills in performance channels; particularly Google Ads & Meta.
  • An advanced ability to independently plan, strategise, and mobilise to achieve a project.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to get buy-in from teams to deliver a positive impact on Sparro accounts performance.
  • Ability to lead relationships with key agency media partners.
  • Strong leadership skills to inspire and lead a team.
  •  Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Highly-effective and confident internal and external stakeholder management skills; including the ability to plan and host client and staff workshops, training sessions, pitches and meetings.
  • 5 + years experience with performance channels

The performance of the Performance Director will be determined based on their ability to:

  • Grow performance media spend across agency, achieve Quarterly KPI’s.
  • Improve agency wide account performance against scoring system.
  • Standardise reporting and insights.
  • Manage and support team members’ skills, experience and confidence.
